THE VISUAL WORLD OF ALICE: Alice Frank
West Bloomfield artist Alice Frank enchants viewers at the LAWRENCE STREET GALLERY during May with her unique jewelry and often whimsical artwork. Incorporating fiber, watercolor, metals, and found objects, she weaves magical art pieces that charm visitors and
often bring smiles and laughs as you follow her fun themes. Again and again, you will react to her artistic stories and beautiful jewelry pieces.
Frank says, “I feel honored to not only have been selected to have a piece in the Michigan Watercolor Society (MWCS) again this year, but I also received a MWCS travel award. Each year MWCS honors a select group of watercolor artists whose work highlights the jewel-like beauty
and versatility that watercolor can achieve. I was thrilled to be among the talented artists whose works ranged from finely detailed photorealism to vivid abstraction.”
Frank’s career spans from study at Cranbrook and U of M to elementary and adult workshop classes. She also taught at Ann Arbor Schools Enrichment Center and Seoul National University. Her exhibitions include the Holocaust Memorial Center (permanent collection), Charlevoix,
Petoskey, Ann Arbor, and Franklin art fairs (to name just a few). She provided an original Washington DC White House Christmas tree ornament. Private collections by Bob Seger and Victoria Principal include Alice Frank’s artwork.
