Kathie Troshynski

The artistic background of this artist has been painted with a wide brush. Art has been a major part of her professional careers: teaching, advertising, volunteering and professional showing.

Graduating with a BA in Humanities was the culmination of years spent at the University of Detroit, Oakland University and Oakland Community College (where I had some of my best art instructors).

She organized juried shows, children’s art competitions and displayed her work through community organizations and juried shows.

“I paint from my love of people and nature. I hope my engagement with my subjects help people also feel an attachment to them. I especially love to charge my work with unexpected color and light. I want people to see a deeper story in my work.  Pastels have become my latest concentration. Workshops with some nationally recognized artists has expanded my creativity and experimentation.”

Currently she is showing at the Lawrence Street Gallery in Ferndale with some of the best talents around Metro Detroit while teaching adult pastel painting at the Orion Moose Tree Studio in Lake Orion.
