As a curious lad, I was given my mother’s favorite KODAK, No.1 Kodex, folding Travel
120 collapsible bellows Camera, with an adjustable KODAK BIMAT Lens. I tried it out
on a nighttime timed exposure in our neighborhood park with great results and I haven’t
stopped since. The camera is in perfect condition in an enclosed glass bookcase for
safe keeping.

After returning from the South Pacific and the Vietnam War (Conflict), looking for a fresh
outlook, I answered an advertisement for an assistant photographer at an Industrial
Automotive Crash Test Facility which then led me into the world of Professional
Photography, backed up by a College Degree in photography, art, film and video
production.

From this beginning as an Industrial Photographer, I then moved to William Beaumont
Hospital in Royal Oak as a Medical/Surgical Photographer & Photojournalist, from there
to a Freelance Photojournalist & Photographer in my own office on the 24th floor of the
Book Building on Washington Boulevard in Detroit. Award winning photographic
assignments, Certificates of Excellence and Trophies keep the daily outlook bright as a
wonderful reward for my work.

Here I am today at 80, still shooting and editing my photographs, both digital and film,
creating art from the best of my images and spending time with my 4 children and 3
grand kids. When you find you have an eye for art and a talent for photography, you just
can’t quit. I still photograph what catches my eye or is so visually interesting that I can’t
let it pass me by and I hope I never stop.
