Artists remember that first plunge into the unknown of showing our talent or passion for the first time in public! It’s not always fun but always rewarding because finding that “we can do it” – puts ourselves out there and we see how we compare with others. When Lawrence Street Gallery members invite other artists to this once-a-year Invitational, they hope the public discovers the talent we see in these creators too!

Members of LSG invite artists they know and admire to this exhibition, realizing some of them rarely show their work and now have the opportunity for a wider audience to display their talents. Many of these artists have long and rich backgrounds in the arts in and around metro Detroit, and some are quite new to exhibiting.  The all-media call for this show brings in a bounty of new thinking in a wide variety of textures, subject matter, and materials. The pieces for the 2025 Lawrence Street Gallery Summer Invitational include so many varied works that you are sure to find something exciting and new!
