Pressing Matters

Lawrence Street Gallery is taking up the pressing matters of our time! And these six professional artists are doing it beautifully!
Printmakers see life a little differently. They take the images we see every day and twist and layer their own thoughts and
feelings into gorgeous patterns and colors. The works are often uplifting, taking the viewer to a new dimension. For Example,
the printmaker’s work can abstractly construct a flower in ways that tell a dynamic story about the light and mood on the day
she painted it. Texture and layering expands their ideas on paper.

We all need to see this exhibit to reframe our experiences of pattern and subject matter with the help of these six imaginative artists. Their love of color and line pressed into paper can soothe anyone needing a lift these days!

Each of these six professionals has previously shown and sold their art locally and nationally. Each of them share their talents working together regularly making art at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center. You can feel the energy in our gallery that must happen when they work together.
