2024 Think Small
Think Small 2024:
An All-Media Juried Exhibit at Lawrence Street Gallery
Lawrence Street Gallery's Annual Think Small Show is back again. This all-media and size-limited show is a staple of our gallery and a longstanding December tradition. How can an artist express themselves in the biggest way possible in the smallest space available? Every year, we find out! Pieces for this call must measure a MAXIMUM of 12 inches in any dimension.
Juror: Edward Duff.
Edward Duff was born in London, England and grew up in Michigan where he studied at the College for Creative Studies and Wayne State University. Duff’s family are New York City natives, and the majority of his childhood was spent traveling between the Midwest and the East Coast. It was through his years spent along the rugged coastline of the Atlantic Ocean that he formed his love of both landscape and the sea. He has exhibited his work nationally, gaining numerous awards for his paintings. Duff has gallery representation in Connecticut, Michigan and Newfoundland. Additionally, Duff is an art instructor teaching painting classes and workshops throughout the state of MI. He worked as a Studio Assistant for the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Art School Director for Paint Creek Center for the Arts from 2011 – 2014, and has been a member of the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center Faculty since 2014.
106 artists entered, nearly twice the number of entries we had last year. While Think Small is almost always ironically our largest show, we were blown away by the number of entries.
We want to warmly thank all who entered and everyone for their patience while we scrambled to deal with this number of entries! None of us can remember ever dealing with a field this large at our Gallery, and while we now know we can handle this many entries, we know it is quite a feat! We are honored and so looking forward to seeing this show. Our juror has chosen a wide range of media, and we think everyone will be happy to see his chosen show!
