Lawrence Street Gallery Presents Intermingled Currents featuring Cheryl Barill and Galina Livit

April 29- May 25, 2026

  • Opening: May 3, 2-4:30 p.m.
  • Mid-Month: May 17, 2-4:30 p.m.

Lawrence Street Gallery presents Intermingled Currents, a two-person show bringing together selected works of Cheryl Barill and Galina Livit in an exhibition that explores the forces shaping perception, memory, and emotional experience. Through distinct yet complementary approaches to landscape, abstraction, texture, and color, the artists create a visual dialogue that reflects movement, tension, and transformation.

Galina Livit is an abstract artist whose layered paintings explore emotion, energy, and transformation through color, texture, and gesture. Working with acrylic, graphite, raw pigments, inks, pastels, cold wax, and hand-mixed textures, she creates dynamic surfaces that evoke shifting horizons and inner landscapes.

Cheryl Barill is a Michigan-based award-winning painter known for her radiant use of color and her innovative integration of metal leafing into oil painting. Her work reflects years of technical exploration and has been widely exhibited and collected throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

A public opening reception will be held on Sunday, May 3, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. A mid-month reception follows on Sunday, May 17, from 2 to 4:30 p.m., featuring an ekphrastic poetry reading at 3 p.m. Admission is free
