Greetings, Here is your new issue of Exhibition News. It's our goal with this newsletter to keep you informed of our monthly exhibitions, provide information for artists such as calls for entries for our juried competitions, and to update you as to the new talent that has joined our association. Speaking of new talent we welcome Mariko Brenner, Ronald Grant, Sandy Grider, Gail Hiller, Rene Lichtman, and Barbara Mellen to our group of gallery artists. The combined creativity of our 30 artists guarantees that each month visitors will enjoy a new display of a variety of fine art including paintings, drawings, printmaking, jewelry, ceramics, photography, wood art, sculpture, and fiber art - all in addition to our monthly, featured exhibits. Come to the gallery and see what's here. Our artists are always on staff to personally welcome and assist you. Sincerely, Lawrence Street Gallery

Lawrence Street Gallery will host Seven Signatures, a group exhibition from April 30 – May 31 with an artists' reception on Friday, May 2 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm. Painting can be a lonely endeavor, but these seven women artists have a long history together painting, selling, exhibiting, and sharing weekly studio time at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Cener to offer stimulating critiques, inspiration and encouragement to each other. They are all members of the Birmingham Society of Women Painters (a group that begin in 1944 and was instrumental in establishing the BBAC). The artists are: Elizabeth Sylvester and Emily Patz of Beverly Hills, Janet Clarke of Birmingham, Lillian Moran and Marica Tournay of Troy, Margaret Kelleher of Bloomfield Hills, and Fran Nicolson of Bingham Farms. Read about the artists and see a preview Currently on Exhibit Exposures Photography '08 Now - April 25, 2008
Lawrence Street Gallery's April exhibition features a juried selection of photographs that range from 35mm black/white and color, to digital and enhanced/experimental images. This popular, annual competition attracts metro-Detroit's most creative and talented photographers, and this year's competition is of particular interest as the juror for the event was Balthazar Korab.
