Lawrence Street Gallery is currently scheduling exhibitions for year 2009. Artists must be from the local area. Exhibition opportunities include one month long solo exhibitions, two person shows, and group shows. There is a fee for having an exhibition in the gallery. The gallery charges a 30% commission on sales for non-member artists. No commission is charged on sales for member artists. The gallery provides the artist with publicity, announcement cards, hangs/installs your exhibition, handles sales of works, and provides an artist's reception. Artists may mail in their portfolios with SASE and exhibition proposal to:

Artists may also drop off their portfolios at the gallery during gallery hours. A representative will notify you as soon as possible of their decision.

Portfolios must include:

• resume or artist statement
• 5 - 10 numbered slides, printed photographs or digital images on CD
• slide or photograph list complete with title, medium, dimensions, and price for each artwork
• exhibition proposal
• SASE large enough to hold all contents

Lawrence Street Gallery will exercise professional care in handling all portfolio materials but cannot assume liability for loss or damage to them.

Lawrence Street Gallery has an ongoing portfolio review for local artists interested in gallery membership. Here's what you receive from the gallery:

* a place to exhibit art year-round
* keep full price of sales (no sales commission to gallery)
* own an equal share in the gallery
* participate in decision-making and experience the running of a gallery with an established reputation (operating since 1987)
* regular on-going PR to newspapers, magazines, and websites
* openings and other events to bring public into gallery and expose your art to a wider audience
* handles sales tax and tax forms
* reduced rate for your own solo or two-person show
* networking opportunities with other artists
* visability in our resume book
* free parking
* work on your art while working your shift at the gallery
* and for a small fee have your own web page on our beautiful website

Members pay a one-time initiation fee in addition to monthly dues, work on a committee, and work two days each month at the gallery during regular gallery hours -- Wednesday through Saturday from 12:00 - 5:00pm and 5:00pm - 10:00pm on the first Friday of each month. See the gallery's floor plan.
